What Happens In Nine Perfect Strangers?

The Tranquillum House offers a special kind of wellness retreat. This is led by the Russian Masha Dmitrichenko ( Nicole Kidman ), who uses unconventional methods to promise her guests a life-changing experience. Nine foreign city dwellers arrive on the grounds of the Tranquillum House to relax and be healed.

The new guests at Tranquillum House include romance novelist Francis Welty ( Melissa McCarthy ), spouses Ben ( Melvin Gregg ) and Jessica ( Samara Weaving ), the Marconi family ( Michael Shannon, Grace Van Patten, and Asher Keddie ), the single Carmel Schneider ( Regina Hall ), ex-athlete Tony Hogburn ( Bobby Cannavale ) and divorce lawyer Lars Lee ( Luke Evans ).

They have all arrived at points in their lives where they desperately need help – even if not all of them want to admit it. During the ten-day retreat, the secrets of the guests – and the mashas – are gradually revealed. And soon they will realize that the resort is not what it appears to be.
